The graduate qualification work topic is âDetermination of high-frequency parameters of grounding devices for electromagnetic transients calculationâ. The work under consideration is devoted to development of a method for determining high-frequency parameters of grounding devices using numerical calculations of the electromagnetic field. The research set the following goals: 1. To review existing methods for the numerical, experimental, and analytical determination of the parameters of grounding conductors. 2. To obtain analytical expressions for the conductor impedance that consider bias currents. 3. To determine impedance of objects with complex geometry and heterogeneous structure using the results of the electromagnetic field calculation. 4. To calculate the electromagnetic field in the time domain to obtain graphs of the transients occurring in the grounding device. The work provides computation of electromagnetic fields in the grounding in both the time and frequency domain using finite element method. The calculations were carried out in COMSOL Multiphysics software package. As a result of the work, a model for numerical calculation of the electromagnetic field in grounding devices of various designs was constructed. The model allows to derive impedance of the grounding system, as well as to carry out the transients calculation during various disturbances affecting the grounding. In addition, the electromagnetic field equations in the grounding device model were jointly combined with the transient equations of the external network circuit with lumped parameters. |
