Popis: This paper presents the results of laboratory-based tests conducted as a first step towards assessing the feasibility of using recently developed electrochemical monitoring techniques for the evaluation of materials and the investigation of corrosive conditions in actual boiler plant. The behaviour ofNimonic 75 was monitored in bulk sodium sulphate and sodium sulphate/l% sodium chloride environments at temperatures of 750°C and 900°C, corresponding to the solid and molten states, respectively. The monitoring techniques employed were those of electrochemical noise and electrochemical impedance.
