Popis: | The present study aimed to know the meanings about the social context of the adolescent in the condition of being transplanted renal. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach using Orem’s Theory of Self-Care. The research was developed in the outpatient kidney transplant unit of a public tertiary hospital. Twenty-five renal transplant adolescents in outpatient care participated in the study. The data were collected during the months of April and May of 2018, using a semi-structured interview script, encompassing open-ended questions, to understand the context and the needs of adolescents in the form of recording. The analysis of the data was done following content analysis. The analysis of the data was based on the apprehension of three thematic categories: “The meanings of being transplanted renal”; “Adherence to post-transplant treatment”; and “Sexual experiences and protection against sexually transmitted diseases”. It is concluded that the condition of being a renal transplant adolescent, its sexuality and adherence to the treatment, the main reason found were the difficulties of adherence to the treatment and the changes of lifestyle in relation to recommendations with eating habits and pharmacological therapy. Keywords: Kidney Transplantation; Adolescent Behavior; Nursing Care; Self Care; Organ Transplantation. |
