Popis: | Fluorinated compounds are separated using fluorinated columns. The elution order depends on the number of fluorine atoms in the solutes. The addition of a masking agent of adsorption point to the mobile phase improves the separation of nitrogen-containing compounds, giving rise to symmetric peaks. Better recognition of geometrical isomers and epimers is achieved on fluorinated packings, which is attributed to the less solvophobic interaction than on an octadecyl siloxane column and the rigid molecular structure of the fluorocarbon chain. Using 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol as a mobile phase, cresol isomers are separated on fluorinated columns. |
