Popis: Natural killer (NK) cells are a small subset of CD3–CD56+, CD16+ circulating lymphocytes regulated by signaling via NK-cell-activating or NK-cell-inhibitory receptors. Changes in NK cell numbers, cytotoxic activity, or cytokine production in response to acute or chronic stress serve as useful biomarkers of neuroendocrine and immune interactions.
