Popis: This study investigated how children and adult's processed online irony during reading in English with consideration to some individual differences such as reading ability, non-verbal intelligence and autism quotients. Eye tracking measures such as first pass reading time, regression path duration and total reading time were collected and analysed. Behavioural measures such as accuracy and response time to comprehension questions were also measured and analysed. Overall, our results indicated that children processed irony in a similar way to adults but were less efficient and less accurate than the adults in our sample.
