Popis:	This work looks at the problem of narcotics use through the eyes of those who are directly involved in witnessing and participating in it, to find out the position of the most active group of young people, college students. The article was based on the "Young People and Narcotics" sociology project, conducted by the Optima Center for Social Technologies. The empirical base consisted of the findings of a survey of students in three major institutions of higher learning, the Academy of Medicine, Technical University, and Urals State University in the city of Ekaterinburg (1,088 subjects, February and March 1999).
