Popis:	The cytochrome spectrum of young barley roots has been examined. A spectrum similar to that in wheat roots was observed; but there was a marked sluggishness of reduction and oxidation which, at 7 days after germination, became a virtual standstill. This failure of activity is related to the loss of sensitivity to carbon monoxide poisoning previously recorded.
