Popis: | Computer-generated feathers are of interest for both research and digital production, but previously proposed modeling methods have been user controlled rather than shaped by actual data. This work demonstrates a new, biologically informed model for individual feathers that uses techniques from computer vision and computer graphics to derive and control shapes. The method reduces the amount of user effort and influence and provides an accurate means of using natural variation of real feathers to synthesize photo-realistic feather assets. |
