Popis: | Enzymatic delignification using the high redox potential Peroneutypa scoparia laccase and a synthetic mediator (1-hydroxybenzotriazole) was investigated to improve bleaching of different pulps viz. eucalyptus, bagasse, bamboo and wheat straw. The best results were obtained using a laccase–mediator system. The resulting bleaching efficacy was comparable with existing commercial laccases. The kappa number achieved was better (11–10) with P. scoparia laccase–mediator system and commercial laccases, than P. scoparia laccase alone (14) in sequential enzymatic treatment bamboo pulp. The results were supported by FTIR and HPLC analysis. This is the first time a laccase from P. scoparia has been studied for pulp delignification. The results obtained show the feasibility of integrating a laccase–mediator treatment for bleaching bamboo pulp for further commercial development. |
