Popis: | The results of field emission studies of planar and end film diamond graphite cathodes are presented. The formation of diamond graphite cathodes was carried out during microwave plasma-chemical deposition of carbon material from low-pressure ethanol vapor. This material contains diamond nanocrystallites enclosed in graphite and polymer-like hydrocarbon matrices. Studies of field emission current-voltage characteristics were performed in a pulsed mode with a pulse duration of 10–50 μs. It was found that the working density of field emission currents at a planar case was 0.7-0.8 A/cm2 with an anode field strength of about 75 V/μm. At end measurements, the maximum density of field emission currents reached 7 mA at an anode field strength of 170 V/μm, which corresponds to the effective density of field emission current from the end of the diamond graphite film of about 2300 A/cm2. |
