Popis: | Performance of modified 3-phase buck AC voltage regulator with two 3-phase bidirectional switches has been investigated in this paper. The converter is neutral connected and maintains constant output voltage regardless of the variations of loads and input voltages. Major concerns for uncontrolled line voltages (voltage sags and swell) are equipment tripping, installing, overheating, and complete breakdown which has negative impact on efficiencies, power demand, cost, and equipment safety. Therefore, the main focus of this research is to present a simple, low cost, high efficiency 3-phase AC voltage regulator with reduced number of switches to make it suitable for AC-AC applications. Performance of the converter was observed with balanced and unbalanced load conditions and also under sudden load and input voltage variations. Simulation results were observed with PSIM software and found satisfactory based on output voltage and input current wave forms and their power quality indices. |
