Popis: Medium voltage heat shrinkable cable terminations are widely used in Egypt especially in construction sites, at the transformer terminals, in ring main units or in medium voltage towers to connect underground cables to overhead lines. This paper deals with the measurement of the flashover voltage (kV) of these cable terminations with and without silicone grease coating under different weathering conditions (UV). The main of this research is to investigate the hydrophobicity classes (HC) of cable terminations and thus their electrical characteristics.
