Popis:	Real-time discrimination/identification of minerals in sorting machines running at high feed rates requires computing power beyond the capabilities of the standard robust industrial controllers. Furthermore the adverse conditions in the mining environment also dictate that elctronic components be kept to a minimum in order to minimise down time and limit access to the plant when situated in a high security area. The system of which the hardware configuration and operating system is described here enables a remote computer system to interface with a diamond sorting machine at transducer level in real-time.
