The purpose of this study is exploring antecedents of people's extremely negative attitudes toward child consultation centers in Japan. Previous studies in cognitive science have demonstrated that (1) the amount of self-assessed knowledge is greater than their actual amount of knowledge and that (2) greater amount of self-assessed knowledge is associated with their extreme attitudes. This study tries to apply these studies and hypothesizes that greater amount of self-assessed knowledge on child consultation centers is associated with their extremely negative attitudes toward the centers. |
