Popis: | The bioavailability of pentobarbital sodium was studied in humans, as a function of the size of particles dispersed in fatty suppositories. It was found that particles of 90–100Μm exhibit a faster absorption rate compared with particles smaller than 20Μm. This confirms earlier findings on watersoluble compoundsin vitro as well asin vivo in rats. It seems therefore advisable to consider a lower limit for drug particles in suppositories for readily watersoluble compounds. |
