In the postoperative management of cubital tunnel syndrome, it may be helpful to think of the rehabilitation in two phases: (1) postsurgical management of the incision and protection of other healing tissues and (2) recovery of function through facilitation of return to normal pain-free use of the effected upper extremity. There is a role for the intervention of a rehabilitation professional (occupational therapist or physical therapist) to assess, teach, train, fabricate custom orthosis, and intervene with issues that may develop to keep the client on the right path to optimal recovery. |
