Popis: | Objective The aim of this systematic review was to evaluate the quality of life of patients who sustained maxillofacial trauma and to assess the tools used to analyse quality of life and psychological changes in maxillofacial trauma patients. Method A review of literature was carried out and 31 articles are included. Results The results indicate that patients that experienced maxillofacial trauma had reduced quality of life but quality of life improved after treatment, with degree of improvement depending severity of injury. Conclusions There is a lack of consistency in the questionnaires used for analysis of quality of life and a validated questionnaire should be created to address this issue. More studies using comparable groups and quality of life among different cultures can be considered for further research. |
