Popis: This chapter discusses the difference between marketing and promoting library resources and services. It focuses on which academic library offerings librarians should dedicate time to; that is, resources and services selected for creation or improvement using a data-driven approach. In other words, it is in the library’s best interest to create services that students say they want or need. Once we understand what best serves our constituents, then we can promote. This chapter discusses what to promote and lists the most popular promotion methods used. Brief analyses of some popular student-preferred, and librarian-selected resources, such as Discovery Tools, library as place, E-Books, Google, and Google Scholar, are provided.
