Hybrid electric powertrains have a limited power source on board which can interact with the traction drives at the certain wheel power and traction force. As the traction drive normally realizes the commanded torque, the DC-link can become unstable and oscillate until it reaches the protection triggering level. There are several basic techniques for handling this problem by adjusting the control system of the traction drive. All of them affect the dynamic speed-torque characteristics of the drive in different ways decreasing its the performance as well. This paper considers the methods of proportional power regulation, proportional torque regulation. A new method of DC-link current negative feedback is proposed in this paper. The simulation was carried out to compare these techniques. The simulation results have shown that the most promising is the control strategy with DC-link current negative feedback, which shows ease of tuning and good damping capability. |
