Popis: Manufacturing processes can often be analyzed as a sequence of independent operations where the quality of the finished product is some function of in process quality characteristics for each operation. Objectives in analyzing a process should be to determine the important variables, how they affect the process, the correct values to optimize the process, and the tolerances required for the process to remain in control. These objectives can be most effectively accomplished by the construction of quantitative process models. The initial cost is usually quickly amortized by lower unit cost and increased product quality.
