Influence of track effects upon chemical etching of polyarylate

Popis: | This paper studies the results of the chemical etching of DV polyarylate in alkali solutions when the polyarylate had been irradiated with various types of ionizing radiations. The work resulted from the need to find optimal conditions of radiative and chemical treatment of polyarylate in the production of a rough structure on the film surface and in the possible development of semipermeable membranes. The polymer films were irradiated with Co 60 gamma radiation at room temperature and in vacuum. Irradiated and nonirradiated films in the form of disks of diameter 4 cm were treated in aqueous potassium hydroxide solutions under various conditions. The results of this work can be useful for determining the optimum conditions of radiation-induced chemical modifications of arylate for developing porous structures on the surface of polyarylate films. |
