Popis: In establishing sexual harassment via a "hostile work environment" as a violation of the Federal Civil Rights Act, the United States Supreme Court has acknowledged that employers must respond for the wrongful acts of managers when such acts occur within the scope of the managers' employment. In an appeal to the court, Sky Chefs argued that a general manager's acts were his own responsibility and not that of the company. The court disagreed, ruling that the degree of authority of the general manager was not an issue and that the company was responsible for the manager's persistent and unwelcome conduct.
