Popis: CO2, CS2, HCN and Nicotine in certain concentrations increased the volume of air inhaled into the tracheal system by the respiratory movements of the grasshoppers that were studied. Minimum lethal concentrations of HCN and CS2 temporarily increased the tracheal ventilation, but this was followed by a gradual decrease as the insect became less and less active.
