Popis: | Small foci of spongy change, often bilaterally symmetric, were observed in the brains of mice exposed to benzidine dihydrochloride. These vacuoles were most frequent in the superior thalamic radiation of the internal capsule. They possibly represent swollen glial cells and intramyelinic vacuoles. No consistent relationship was observed between the presence of vacuoles in the brain and hepatic lesions in these mice, and this change may be attributable to benzidine treatment unrelated to toxic effects of the liver. |
