| Popis: | The tsarist government, having cruelly dealt with the December uprising of 1825, demoted most of the officers who participated in it to the ranks and sent them to settle in the distant harsh Siberia. After a while, many of them were transported to the Caucasus, which the reactionary Russian officials called South Siberia. |
