Popis: | The complex which forms between calcium and the potassium salt of catechol-4-sulfonate in aqueous, alkaline solutions at temperatures from 5 to 80°C was studied. The measurement techniques involved the use of ultraviolet spectrophotometry and a calcium ion-selective electrode. Results indicate that a single complex species with a 1:1 stoichiometry forms between calcium and the totally dissociated potassium catechol-4-sulfonate. The logarithm of the stability constant of the complex is 3.82 ± 0.04 (0.92 M ionic strength) throughout the temperature range. |
