Popis: | The motion of electrons in crossed electric and magnetic fields has been studied by many authors. A.W. HULL [1], in particular has investigated the special case of cylindrical magnetrons. He has shown that, in the case of a small cathode, (filament), in the axis of an anode of radius R, at potential V, the cut-off magnetic field is given by the relation $${B_C} = \sqrt {\frac{{8m}}{e}} \quad \frac{{{V^{1/2}}}}{R}$$ (1) where m and e are the mass and the charge of an electron. |
