Popis: Using the sealed-ampule technique, the compounds Cu2LnSb3S7 (Ln = La, Nd) were synthesized for the first time. Cu2LaSb3S7 and Cu2NdSb3S7 crystallize in the orthorhombic system and have identical crystal structures. The lattice parameters of Cu2LaSb3S7 are a = 14.43 A, b = 21.42 A, and c= 3.97 A those of Cu2NdSb3S7 area = 14.463 A, b= 21.404 A, and c = 3.962 A. Between 1080 and 1095 K, both compounds decompose to form disordered CuSbS2–LnSbS3 solid solutions.
