Coherent scattering and fluorescence from strongly driven two-level systems

Popis: The behavior of a damped two-level atom driven by an intense resonant em field E ( t ) is analyzed. As E ( t ) increases, the out-of-phase component of the atomic polarization saturates and decreases, as usual, but the in-phase component continues to increase. This effect can result in enhannced coherent scattering and fluorescence.
