The effect of the Gulf of Mexico on Rayleigh wave dispersion

Popis: The dispersion of Rayleigh waves crossing the Gulf of Mexico was measured. It is shown that the observed dispersion can be accounted for by considering the presence of unconsolidated sediments. The average sediment thickness required to account for the dispersion is 7 km.
