Popis: | Fullerene soot was produced in an arc discharge with an anode composed of carbon. Then the results of a study of the electrochemical intercalation of lithium into soot in 1 M LiClO 4 EC/DEC (50:50) electrolyte are presented here. Our results show that the soot has a large irreversible capacity. Once the soot was treated at high temperature, the surface areas increased dramatically. With the increase of the surface areas, the irreversible capacity increased. Complementary characterization techniques, that is, element analysis, X-ray diffraction, BET surface areas analysis, scanning electron microscope, cycle Voltammetry, constant current charge–discharge tests and a.c. impedance investigations were used for full structural characterization of the soot and the electrochemical intercalation of lithium. |
