Popis:	This chapter describes an unexpected anthrax outbreak in a group of Swedish beef cattle kept indoors during the winter season of 2008. Anthrax is a serious zoonotic disease, caused by the pathogenic agent Bacillus anthracis. The way in which the outbreak was managed, the costs involved and the lessons learned are discussed. Research needs, crisis management and preparedness gaps are also identified.
