Popis:	Three 1-hydroxy-3-phenylsulphonylpiperidine-2-thione derivatives have been prepared from methylphenylsulphone in five steps. The key step was the preparation of a dithioester which was achieved in a very high yield using nBuLi, CS 2 , and MeI.
