Analysis on field uniformity of radiated fields from a half impulse radiating antenna

Popis: This paper provides the assessment results of the field uniformity area (FUA) at a distance, radiated from a half impulse radiating antenna (HIRA) in order to establish a standardized hyper-band transient immunity test method. The field uniformity in the test area is very important for repeatability and reproducibility in the most of radiated field immunity tests. The FUA assessment methods according to IEC 61000-4-3, IEC 61000-4-20 are analyzed. The assessments of the field uniformity using a half impulse radiating antenna, named KOHIRA, were performed at the measurement distance of 3 m and 6 m. not only in time-domain with a hyper-band transient source but also in frequency domain with CW generator. The applied criteria for the amplitudes is within −0 dB to +6 dB for 75% of the measurement points on the area.
