Popis: The central pedicle technique, first described in 1985 by Hester et al, is presented as a safe, reliable, and flexible method of breast reduction that is applicable to nearly all sizes of breasts. Its greatest strengths are the maximal preservation of neurovascular structures in an open technique and the ability to precisely tailor the skin envelope after glandular reduction has been accomplished. Five years of experience at a teaching facility are presented, as well as long-term follow-up from Hester's experience.
