Popis: | Policy development such as the above reflects the emergence of a Christian ‘communitarianism’ that has been influenced by the emergence of an influential communitarianism in the United Kingdom and the United States and that has both liberal and conservative orientations. This communitarianism has a distinctive view of civic religion, which sees religion as contributing to the creation of a more dynamic civil society and the development of a more democratic political culture as well as a means to reduce the scale of the welfare state (Wuthnow, 1996; 2002). |
