This study will investigate how social network structure affects how narratives are processed in multi-generational human populations. Participants will be asked to reconstruct a text based on the texts produced by participants in the previous generation (similar to the children's game "telephone"). Our main manipulation will modify how many texts participants read: In one condition, participants will learn from one other participant in simple transmission chains. In the second, participants will learn from three participants in fully-connected feed-forward networks. |
