Popis:	SUMMARYThe consistent presence of 2 n = 24 chromosomes in 12 homologous pairs from root tip cells and of 12 IIs in pollen mother cells without any disjunctional anomalies indicate that Galphimia gracilis is probably a basic diploid (x = 12). The somatic chromosomes ranged in length from 5.12 to 9.48 μ. The frequency of proximal chiasmata was high (87.5%) and the mean chiasma frequency/II was 1.76 ± 0.05.
