Popis:	Currently, the ``systems approach'' is more an attitude than a plan of action. The method and concepts of science can help this field achieve the latter status. A system is defined, and current practice in systems engineering is described. The methods of science are described and suggested as a guide for the systems approach. Some of the tools and concepts used in systems work are described.
