Study on 2-D Gyrotropic EBG by FEM

Popis: In this paper, the FEM of the hybrid of edge-element and node-element incorporated with Floquet theorem is employed for analyzing the electromagnetic characteristic of 2-D EBG consisting of gyrotropy medium. The method is certified by the comparison with analytic value. The required computational resources are small since the size of space domain to be solved is about only a single cell of the periodic structure. At the same time, the FEM of hybrid element satisfy the complexity of the electromagnetic field in the gyrotropy EBG. Then the analysis of ferrite EBG is presented, which shows the stop and pass bands are changed obviously by changing the biased magnetic filed. So the gyrotropy EBG (including ferrite EBG) probably became a novel tunable EBG. This paper is helpful for the design of this EBG.
