The surface degradation of concrete floors due to an inadequate wear resistance is a frequently encountered problem causing great discomfort and influencing the use of the floor. In order to prevent this situation, the floor should be customized according to the foreseen wear intensity. In literature, however, contradictory information is given with respect to which parameters have an influence on the wear resistance of concrete. This paper presents the results of a study concerning the wear resistance (also ‘abrasion resistance’) of concrete floors, which is a part of a broader study regarding the durability of troweled industrial concrete floors in general. |
