Popis: | 25th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition / 5th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion, 6-10 September 2010, Valencia, Spain; 4497-4501 This paper introduces the implementation and evaluation of a dynamic Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithm for central PV systems, which has superior performance under rapidly changing irradiance without any additional hardware investments. It shows that this so-called Dual-Sampling MPPT is especially suitable for central PV system, i.e. for applications with limited sampling and update rate. As a systematic evaluation, the performance of DS-MPPT is compared to a standard Perturb & Observe algorithm (P&O) and an Incremental Conductance (IC) based algorithm. Firstly, all algorithms are implemented in SABER model and tested using the irradiance profile of EN50530 standard as well as some local weather data. Secondly, both DS-MPPT and IC-MPPT are integrated to a central PV inverter and run a field test for 30 days. All test results prove that the proposed DS-MPPT is significantly advantageous over traditional MPPT algorithms. Furthermore, this paper discusses the impact of MPPT variable setups on the central PV inverters and some potential improvements for the DS-MPPT. |
