| Popis: | Options for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair include both open and endovascular approaches. Patient selection for each of these requires careful consideration relating to patient health, fitness and anatomy. This article aims to provide an overview of the essential aspects of both open surgical repair (OSR) and endovascular AAA repair (EVAR), focussing upon decision making, the procedures, follow-up and long-term outcomes. Consideration is also given to more complex AAA repairs, including fenestrated/branched stent grafts and open juxta-renal aneurysm repairs. AAA epidemiology, screening, and work up for repair are covered in the previous article. |
