Popis: | Summary The paper presents a complete CAPP/CAM system with an integrated Expert System for defining the machining strategies on a multi-turret NC automatic turning-milling center. This kind of machine is characterized by high production, since up to three tool-turrets can work at the same time, each carrying up to six fix or rotating tools. In this context the optimisation of production strategies assume great importance, in order to exploit the machine at its best. Having the machining center several degree of freedom, it's very complex to define good production strategies, i.e. strategies minimizing production time with respect to machine and part technology constraints. The system can be employed by people not really specialist of the machine, simply defining the elementary operations requested to produce the parts. The rules-based Expert System then assigns tools/operations to the different turrets, defines machining conditions, defines cutting strategies, calculates cycles times. A tree-explorer module examines alternatives machining solutions. A modules then converts the solution into a NC part-program and transfers it to the machine. In order to get high efficiency, a graphic man-machine interface has been developed, allowing both the user to guide the system behaviour and the system to test user proposal. |
