Popis: A flow-through nickel oxide electrode is used for the detection of selected organic molecules in a flow-injection system. Sensitivity is enhanced more than ten-fold for some compounds at 105°C relative to 25°C. Diffusion-controlled currents are obtained for some species at the higher temperature. Linear response extends to 10 −7 M with detection limits in the nanogram range in some cases. The higher temperature increases the rate of saponification of ethyl acetate and also allows the determination of acetone. Typical relative standard deviations are 1–3%.
