Popis: As a result of human activities occurred and released into the atmosphere, greenhouse gases have increased greatly since the industrial revolution. The heat holding capacity of greenhouse gases causes global warming. Transportation sector is one of the most important factors in the formation of greenhouse gas. In parallel with the developments in aviation in recent years, the airports have positively affected the economic development of the regions in which they are located however adversely affected the environment. Greenhouse gases and air pollutants generated as a result of the fuel used by landing/take off numbers of aircraft together with the fuel consumption stage, negatively affect climate change. Reducing the future negative effects of these elements will only be possible by providing appropriate emission inventories and relevant technology strategies. In this study, the carbon footprint was calculated from the data dependent onto the number of flights and types of aircraft from Mugla airports in the 2017 year. Tier approach methodology proposed by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was used in emission calculations. Due to the fact that there is a significant amount of CO2 gas in the greenhouse gases arising from transportation, the amount of CO2 emissions has been determined as 93410,750 tCO2 / year. As a result of the calculations, it was observed that the increase in fuel consumption increased CO2 emissions.
