Popis: | A technique is presented here for combining laser-based speckle metrology and the Finite Element Method to determine the state of stress in the vicinity of a crack tip in a planar structure. A brief description is given of speckle metrology and how it is applied. A complementary energy version of the Finite Element Method is developed and sample applications presented. These, and other referenced results, show that there is significant potential for application of the hybrid approach to practical analysis problems. |
