Popis:	The photosensitized electron transfer reactions of several 1- and 9-(aminoalkyl)phenanthrenes with metadicyanobenzene have been investigated. These reactions provide an efficient method of synthesis for the skeletal structures of the aporphine, phenanthropiperidine, and phenanthroazepine alkaloids.
