Mesoscopic P-wave attenuation model to estimation of free gas saturation

Popis: We combine the mesoscopic P-wave attenuation model of double porosity and a frequency-based method for measuring seismic attenuation to predict the gas saturation petrophysical parameter. The ongoing case study is related to a free gas layer associated to a hydrate gas, which produce a reflection of high amplitude and inverse polarity detected in the seismic profile. Partial results of methodology application are presented.
